SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 2000--Cleanscape Software International and ITCN Inc. announced today their intent to establish an alliance of companies providing products that address the growing modernization efforts of Department of Defense contractors.
The alliance is targeted at companies engaged in developing new computing systems or upgrading existing systems for aerospace and military applications.
Initially the alliance will address the users of the MIL-STD-1750A radiation hardened processors found in many systems ranging from space applications to the F14, F15, and F18 fighter aircraft. ITCN, a manufacturer of real-time, non-intrusive monitors and analyzers for development of computing systems, and Cleanscape, a manufacturer of automated software development products and complete C cross development environments, will explore the opportunities for systems based on the MIL-STD-1750A processor. Many of these systems are written in legacy languages like Ada or Jovial, which severely limits the talent pool of software engineers available to the subsystem contractors.
"There are entire fleets of aircraft and weapons systems needing to be retrofit with modern technology," stated Roy Penwell, president of ITCN. "These systems are the subject of various DOD modernization efforts."
"The goals of the alliance include providing new technology to address existing systems," stated Ted Batha, president and CEO of Cleanscape. "The focus is on providing C language based systems for existing platforms."
